In this month’s Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, discusses Luther’s assertion that “the Christian life is a discipleship of suffering.” Even as we rejoice that the COVID-19 pandemic is diminishing, Christians may face suffering ahead in the form of legislation such as the Equality Act, which is “directed intensely against religious schools … and universities,” as well as hospitals and medical organizations.
“We [must] treat all people with kindness and respect. … At the same time, we must hold to the faith once delivered to the saints,” says Harrison.
