With a renewed emphasis on theological and academic fidelity, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is delighted to relaunch Journal of Lutheran Mission (JLM). The Winter 2025 issue of JLM is the first since 2017.
Directed and overseen by LCMS International Mission theological faculty, JLM provides articles on the state and practice of mission in the 21st century.
Through this journal, the LCMS prays that the Lord’s work of planting churches, spreading the Gospel and showing mercy to the world will continue to blossom and grow here in the U.S. and around the world.
The Winter 2025 issue contains two articles:
- The Rev. Dr. Benjamin Mayes’ paper on pastoral formation in the 17th century was presented at a theological symposium in the Dominican Republic (May 2023).
- A translation by the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison of an essay by Paul Peters on Martin Luther’s Bible translation and its importance for world missions.
