Two resolutions from the 2019 LCMS convention — Res. 11–04A (“To Affirm the Common Humanity of All People and Ethnicities”) and Res. 11–05A (“To Encourage Responsible Citizenship and Compassion Toward Neighbors Who Are Immigrants Among Us”) — are available in both English and Spanish. See both versions below.
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod gathers in convention July 20-25, 2019, in Tampa, Fla., to worship, encourage one another and make decisions that will guide the next three years of our Gospel proclamation around the world.
Even as our world changes, the Word of God remains the same. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod proclaims this truth here and throughout the world in mission work, disaster response, universities, seminaries and especially in our congregations.
The LCMS might be shrinking and North American culture might be becoming more hostile toward Christianity, but hand-wringing is not a Christian ceremony. The Lord calls us to hopefulness and joy.
It's not often that the synod in convention approves something unanimously but this year at convention there was overwhelming support and praise for the work of LCMS Disaster Response. Although when you see the stats it's easy to see why. Take a look at the resolution.
