In the November 2016 issue of StewardCAST, LCMS Stewardship Ministry highlights the critical union of stewardship and mission within the church. Their relationship is inseparable and has little to do with any kind of funding the mission concept.
Mission and stewardship are rooted in God’s mercy. A steward on a mission becomes a mercy-bearer. The steward’s work is derived directly from the work of God in His Kingdom here on earth.
Thus, stewardship that leads to mission creates mission that gives purpose to stewardship. These attributes need to be together so that they remain faithful to God’s Word.
