In this Life Together News Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), reflects on the Advent season through the words of Matthew 21: “Behold, your king is coming, meek and sitting on a donkey.”
“We are Christ’s people. He is the lowly King who comes to us in lowly ways so that He can love us, care for us, and call us His own, even until He comes again to us in glory,” says Harrison.
Harrison reflects on the joy Christians have in this season in a God who comes to us in humble ways, “in ways … that don’t scare us, in ways that we can comprehend Him, that we can receive Him … He comes meek and gentle in His Word.”
