“Christianity is first and foremost about Christ’s service to sinners by laying down His life for the sins of the world. … How do we sinners, so served and blessed by Jesus, respond? We cannot do anything except be Christians (little Christs!) to others,” LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison writes in this issue of Sharing.

This issue looks at two places where Lutherans are being “little Christs” to those in need:

  • In rural Nebraska, an LCMS pastor and a Lutheran school teacher are serving members of the Winnebago Tribe.
  • In Lima, Peru, a native Peruvian was encouraged to attend seminary after working with LCMS missionaries. That man, the Rev. Jeancarlos Ramirez, has recently returned to serve as pastor at the same outreach where he was once a lay volunteer.
