In the November 2018 issue of StewardCAST, LCMS Stewardship Ministry stresses the need to return stewardship mentality to one rooted in Scripture and confession.

As the pressures of funding ministry have skyrocketed, stewardship has morphed into the task of meeting the budget and paying the bills rather than a grateful response to God’s gifts.

In response, pastors and stewardship leaders have attempted to massage, plead, browbeat and even demand that their people be better stewards.

The more the purpose of stewardship is taught and the joy of faithful stewardship is shared, the more the congregational stewardship culture will begin to tip.

Once it tips, it will keep going. Seek these tipping points, fellow steward leaders.
