In this issue of So Help Me God from the LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces, we are reminded of what Jesus has done for us — He paid the price for our redemption (to free us from sin) and, through this selfless act, He removed God’s wrath from us.
This is the verdict the Lord hands down for us — we are “not guilty” because of what He did for us.
In addition, insight is provided as to the “Anfechtung,” or suffering, experienced in a Christian’s life. Martin Luther said that at no point can Anfechtung separate us from Christ and His promise of salvation.
