LCMS Worship provides hymn suggestions for Three-Year Series C and the One-Year Series to use during the 2021-22 church year.
In the Lutheran church, hymns are not fillers in the liturgy — they are an integral part of proclaiming the Word of God and the primary way that the royal priesthood joins in declaring the wonders of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
The suggested hymns are offered with the intent that the people of God not only hear the Word as proclaimed in the readings and the sermon but also join in the proclamation of each Sunday or feast.
The Series C hymn suggestions were compiled by Kantor Samuel Eatherton and the pastors of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, Wis. The One-Year Series hymn curriculum was prepared by the Rev. Nathan Wille of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, Iowa.
Unless otherwise indicated, hymns are from Lutheran Service Book.
