Did you know that your church body, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), has been mucking out houses and helping disaster victims to rebuild ever since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005?

The church does precisely what St. Paul urges: “Do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Gal. 6:10).

The 2024 Holiday Edition shares the stories behind two specific mercy projects:

  • Disaster response following Hurricane Helene, which hit the southeastern United States in late September; and
  • Care for LCMS military members and their families who are living and serving in Yokosuka, Japan.

Thank you for your support of LCMS World Relief and Human Care. Visit lcms.org/mercy to learn more about the Synod’s mercy work.

These mercy efforts and much more have been made possible by many generous contributors who have supported LCMS World Relief and Human Care during the past five years. Read more at engage.lcms.org/mercy.
