December 2016: This issue of the Parish Nurse Newsletter highlights ways parish nurses have reached out and served a particular population in their midst.
The population typically served by a parish nurse includes the members of a congregation or the residents living in a specific community. Within this larger population, though, smaller populations can be identified so their needs can be appropriately addressed by parish nurses.
The newsletter also includes other important information:
- Helpful tips for supporting brothers and sisters in Christ who are facing the first Christmas without a loved one;
- Ideas that LCMS congregations can use to make a difference in the lives of military families;
- A list of the district parish nurse representatives; and
- Educational opportunities and resources for parish nurses serving across the globe.

P.S. LCMS Health Ministry provides a series of video presentations for parish nurses and others serving in congregational health ministry. Some presentations include specific theology applicable to parish nurses, and some are more specific to health-related topics. Visit lcms.org/health/parishnursing to view past videos.
