This issue of So Help Me God, the newsletter of LCMS Ministry to the Armed Forces, reminds readers that the Lord God loves you and sustains you through dark times. Soldiers especially know what it is like to stand alert during the darkness before dawn; in the same way, all Christians wait with readiness and hope for the return of Christ.
And all the while, we are sure that “neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:35–39).
