In this month’s Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, discusses the account of Elizabeth greeting Mary in Luke 1, and how it speaks clearly to the dignity and sacredness of unborn life in the womb.

“John the Baptizer lept in the womb at meeting our Lord’s mother, our Lord in the womb. That is a precious and significant text,” said Harrison.

Harrison also discussed the many ways in which the church cares for those in need in addition to fighting to defend unborn life, and announced the Synod’s upcoming Million Dollar Life Match, which will provide $1 million in matching grants to congregations across the Synod, to fund local pro-life human care work.
