LCMS Black Ministry Spring 2018 TimeLine Newsletter

Great joy exists when God’s children gather at the foot of the holy cross in unity and thanksgiving, giving praise to God for life-giving salvation through Jesus Christ.

It is from this joy that Christians live out their faith, serving their neighbors in need, studying God’s Word, sharing the Gospel around the world, and praising God through song and worship services.

To illustrate how this joy is lived out, the latest TimeLine newsletter shares the following stories:

  • People from across the country (including members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, New Orleans) helped Harold and Brenda Steen, members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Houston, clean up after Hurricane Harvey destroyed their home;
  • Beatrice Lehman continues to study God’s Word and participate in Lutheran worship at the age of 105;
  • Rev. Keith Haney works to help bridge the racial divide, most recently through a Bible study he wrote on the topic; and
  • First Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Indianapolis, collaborated to create the “FTL Series” Accompaniment CD to aid churches with their music ministry.
