“From the Gospels, we know all lives are precious to Jesus. We see that the apostles continued in a very orderly way to attend to real needs (2 Cor. 8–9; Acts 6; etc.). Thus, we always preach the Gospel, plant churches and show mercy,” says the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), in this issue of Sharing.
This special edition highlights the work of two LCMS Recognized Service Organizations that are fostering the mission and ministry of the church by serving in unique ways:
- MOST Ministries is sending volunteer teams to hold eyeglass clinics in various locations in Latin America. These clinics support the work of the Synod’s missionaries and are well received by area residents.
- Rebecca’s Garden of Hope, based in Orlando, has launched a new program to help middle schoolers and high schoolers learn life skills and start exploring career and college options.
