It’s always amazing to me to see how blessed the church is by the many men and women who serve voluntarily in various ministries. LCMS Youth Ministry is currently giving thanks for all of those who faithfully serve as youth ministry volunteers and will be bringing young people to the 2016 LCMS Youth Gathering this summer.

The spring issue of the CPH resource, Sunday School Matters, has “Volunteer” as its focus. You’ll find many practical ways to recruit, train and acknowledge those who serve in your setting. And although the focus is Sunday School, the ideas have practical application for other ministry areas in the church.

In my years of ministry as a director of Christian education, I’ve been privileged to equip, train and work with many outstanding volunteers. Their dedication and faithfulness helped with writing my article for the issue entitled, Teach the Basics.

Join with me in giving thanks for those who so faithfully serve in Christ’s name as volunteers.

“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:3-5
