In this Life Together Digest, the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), wishes the Synod a happy 175th birthday.
“This April we celebrated 175 years since our founding in Chicago, about a dozen congregations and a handful of pastors. And how the Lord has blessed us all these many, many years,” said Harrison.
On April 26, a Service of Thanksgiving was held at the LCMS International Center in recognition of the 175th anniversary of the Synod’s founding. Harrison points to a recording of this service at thelc.ms/175-chapel, and also directs viewers to other recent resources in Reporter and The Lutheran Witness, and the new podcast “5 Minutes with a Missionary” from KFUO.
