Hosted by LCMS Rural & Small Town Mission, the Rev. Michael Meyer, director of LCMS Disaster Training, presented a free webinar on “Disaster Response in RSTM” on April 21, 2022.
“We can’t do everything, but we can do something.” This is one of the many mantras that permeate disaster response work. It’s simple, encouraging, and helps to set a realistic tone.
Meyer discussed how to get started with the Flood Bucket project and other disaster response efforts. The Flood Bucket Project engages congregations in the assembly and distribution of basic supplies that families might need after a flood. It not only provides what families need, but it also begins fostering relationships between the church and those whom they are helping.
