Perspective and motivation are key components of ministry. Ignoring them can have detrimental effects.
In many cases, the motivation for an outreach ministry comes down to numbers. But if budget and finance fixes are our sole goal, we will only be disappointed and never hit the mark. When we are faithful to Christ’s mission for the church to share His Gospel, we will always find that we are meeting our intended outcome.
Kollbaum, who is pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, Neb., and director of LCMS Rural & Small Town Mission, leads a discussion on these topics.
