Topics include:
- U.S. Supreme Court case Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, in which Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys represent cake artist Jack Phillips. Oral arguments were heard Dec. 5 after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission punished Phillips, saying he discriminated by declining to create a custom wedding cake in celebration of same-sex marriage, which conflicts with his Christian religious beliefs on the definition of marriage.
- Members of Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod congregations took part in area and national marches to stand for life and to remind the government of its role to protect life.
- The LCMS joined in an amicus brief in a case bound for the U.S. Supreme Court to halt a California law requiring pro-life pregnancy centers to provide free advertising for the abortion industry. The Synod is among 22 states, 144 members of Congress and numerous other organizations that have filed briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) v. Becerra.
- U.S. Air Force Col. Leland Bohannon, who is under fire for his Christian beliefs about traditional marriage.
