It is always a great joy to come together as a faith family to worship, pray and celebrate God’s work in our lives. Such great joy is anticipated for this summer’s LCMS Black Ministry Family Convocation, a special reunion of faith family members encouraging one another to give their “All for Jesus.”
In an effort to highlight the activities and speakers at this event, the following stories are shared in the first quarter 2017 issue of TimeLine newsletter:
- Students at St. John’s Lutheran School, Dover, Del., receiving bells for their backpacks when they have learned what it means to be a missionary to their neighborhood (as part of the “iGo” missionary program of the LCMS Southeastern District);
- The love of Christ the Rev. Dr. John Loum shares through his work with the Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis;
- The ministry of the Rev. Dr. Dien Ashley Taylor at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bronx, N.Y.; and
- The seeds of hope Mrs. Leevones Fisher has been planting in her community “Trinity Gardens” in Mobile, Ala., for more than 20 years.
