LCMS Stewardship Ministry – April 2016 newsletter

StewardCast Newsletter

In the April 2016 issue of StewardCAST, LCMS Stewardship Ministry looks at how people today are living longer and the unique challenges this creates for congregational leaders and laypeople.

The longer-living generation, the Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964), also presents a tremendous blessing to the Church. This blessing is found in the combination of their retirement age and their longevity. This time span is referred to as the “Second Adulthood,” the nearly two decades between retirement and mortality with which the majority of this generation will be blessed.

These retired Boomers are a great gift to the Church from the Lord that needs to be properly stewarded. And great things can happen when the Church begins to use its gifts in all generations for the sake of the Gospel.
