LCMS Worship provides hymn suggestions for Three-Year Series A and the One-Year Series to use during the 2019-20 church year.
The Rev. Henry V. Gerike, kantor at Church of the Reformation — Lutheran in Affton, Mo., compiled the Series A hymn suggestions, and LCMS Worship assembled suggestions for the One-Year Series.
In the Lutheran church, hymns are not fillers in the liturgy — they are an integral part of proclaiming the Word of God and the primary way that the royal priesthood joins in declaring the wonders of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
The suggested hymns are offered with the intent that the people of God not only hear the Word as proclaimed in the readings and the sermon but also join in the proclamation of each Sunday or feast.
